The Day of SAF IT Service
In the House of Guards, 21 February-the Day of the SAF IT Service was marked today. This day was chosen as the day when the first organizational unit charged with date processing was formed 36 years ago. The celebration was attended by the representatives of MoD and the Chief of SAF GS, the Chiefs of SAF GS Departments along with the representatives of companies and firms in the IT business this service cooperates with.In his welcome address, the Head of the IT Service Major General Radivoj Vukobrado stressed that the times we live in bespeak of the importance of information science.
“This is the Internet era, the era of autoimmunization of all processes, of codification of all events. The importance of this service is best seen in the demands and orders we get on daily basis from the higher levels of command chain to find better, solutions that are more effective and complete IT support to all processes in the defense system. These demands are at the same time the best sign of the trust the defense system has posed in the It Department. This is of course something we take pride in, since we feel certain responsibility to cary out these tasks and meet the demands to the best of our ability. The best thing is to have more realistic deadlines and through a proper selection of priorities. This is why our demands to procure the best IT equipment possible are quite appropriate.”, General Vukobradovic pointed out.
