Intensive defence cooperation with the United Kingdom

Acting Assistant Minister for Defence Policy Milan Mojsilović received the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to the Republic of Serbia, HE Denis Keefe. They analysed the defence cooperation and possibilities for its further improvement.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the current political and security situation in the region and the need for joint action in combating new security challenges, in order to achieve a more stable and safer environment for citizens.

Mr Mojsilović especially emphasized satisfaction with the significant improvement of military cooperation, opening a space that in addition to the traditional training for participation in multinational operations, cooperation through other forms should also be established, including the conduct of bilateral exercises.

He introduced him to the activities of the Ministry of Defence in the process of the European integration, cooperation within the framework of the Partnership for Peace Programme and plans to engage in multinational operations.

Ambassador Keefe reiterated support in the process of accession of Serbia to the EU, stating that, despite the "Bregzit", the United Kingdom continues to be strategically interested in the stability of the Western Balkans, where the Republic of Serbia unquestionably provides an active contribution.
