Defense Ministers of Serbia and Montenegro Dragan sutanovac and Boro Vucnic respectively signed an Agreement on Cessation of Flight Simulator for Supergaleb G-4, which will be used for the training of SAF pilots.

The topic of this issue is equipping of MoD and SAF in 2009. will the allocated funds be enough for all the new equipment, arms, infrastructure and the finalization of projects already begun? What is the main focus of the SAF modernization and what is pace of this process? How will we use the capacities of the Serbian defense industry? Has the system envisioned measures for surmounting these difficulties now that we have a world economic crisis on our hands?


The organization of 25th Summer University Olympics, the most important international event in our country this year, will also involve the Ministry of Defense, which has formed a Work Group led by State Secretary of MoD Zoran Jeftic, PhD. The complete medical attention will be provided by MMA during this manifestation, while the students of the Military Academy will be engaged in numerous protocol and other activities, they are currently constructing a shooting field within the Military Academy and two athletics tracks according to the highest standards-one at Banjica and the other in the Military Grammar School.

Historian Mile Bjelajac, PhD in an interview to ODBRANA magazine states that unless a society pays enough attention to its traditional institutions, such as the army, for example, this loss could not be made up for when special needs arise. The most renowned military professionals of our country highlight that patriotism should be nurtured and cherished in our nation, yet on the other hand the society must show that it can provide a decent material status for its army thus showing its appreciation. A society must always be appreciative of someone’s readiness who would lay their lives for the freedom of their country. That is not just a cliché phrase as the modern generations might think. An officer must be aware that even when he loses a war he will not lose the respect of his people. This families of those who lost their lives should also feel the same and not feel abandoned.

Female candidates for professional soldiers undergo the same training as men, with special conditions in the organization and the work. Five female candidates, after the evaluation and obtaining a certificate on preparedness, finished their training in the Krusevac-based center.

Our energy system can be enriched by some 2.3 billion kilowatt hours using the power of the wind, which makes 7 % of the current energy production of Serbia. Our researchers have made tow important projects for using eol and solar energy thus investing into renewable energy resources.
