Defence Minister received retired and newly appointed officers



The Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic has received today recently retired generals who have spent the entire service in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces and their successors, who have been appointed to new, high duties according to the decree of Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic.

“The people we are saying farewell today have left an indelible mark in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces”, the Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic said and added that they know best which obligations are left to their successors, the future generals, who have been appointed to new leading duties according to the decree of Serbian President.
 
“All tasks and obligations set up in the previous years are in front of us now and should be fulfiled. Those who are going into deserved retirement have given great contribution to the development of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces and have raised the scale of obligations for their successors at a higher level. The Armed Forces are still open for them, since they can undoubtedly assist in further development of the defence system and increasing the level of security of our county at even higher level with their precious experience and great knowledge”, Djordjevic said.

The Minister expects that the high officers appointed to new duties, perspective commanders who have proved themselves in their work so far, will continue where their predecessors have stopped with hard work, high concentration and responsibility.

“The future of leading the Army is on them. I expect them to improve the defence system in all segments they are responsible for with constant care of their subordinates”, the Defence Minister Zoran Djordjevic said.
 
The meeting was attended by the Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic and the members of the Defence Minister Collegium.
