Joint press release of the Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Interior



Today's protest of the police and military trade unions of Serbia is not the way to solve problems and challenges that we are facing as a society and a state, especially when the state has found a way to increase earnings in the police and the military by five percent, and to modernize and equip them.
 
Solutions for all problems will continue to be sought in the talks and mutual understanding compatible with the reality, which is supported by majority of the members of the military and the police. It is important that any protest fully respects the Constitution and the laws of the Republic of Serbia. What we could see today from the performance of some trade union leaders, unfortunately, was not the case.
 
The Ministry of Defence and the Ministry of Internal Affairs will continue to create an atmosphere of constructive dialogues with all the trade unions trying to improve the standard of living and working conditions for each member of the security forces.
