The Veterans Day was marked in all commands, units and institutions of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces. As a sign of respect and recollection of those who gave their lives for their country, military delegations in cooperation with local governments and veterans’ associations laid wreaths at the Memorial Ossuary and the monuments to the killed and victims of liberation wars.

Veterans Day is marked on 4th December in the recollection of the day when, in 1912, the truce in the First Balkan War was signed. About 400,000 soldiers of the Royal Serbian Armed Forces became "old warriors" and veterans according to modern language.
