The military-medical team leaves for Kongo



The six-member team for aerial evacuation of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces (AMET-12) left for the Democratic Republic of Congo. Major Malibor Kostic, Senior I Class Sergeant Aleksandar Pavicevic, Senior Sergeant Mialn Markovic and military employees Gordana Bejatovic MD, Jelena Djordjevic and Nada Kocic will be part of MONUC peace operation for the next 6 months.

The peace keepers from Serbia, before their departure to the peace mission, they signed contracts defining their rights and duties in the Center for Peace Operations of SAF GS.
SAF have participated in UN peace mission in Congo since 2003. The AMET-12 team, as part of regular rotation, will replace their predecessors the team of medical technicians located in Kinshasa. The teams’ basic task is to provide escort to the sick and injured patients who are aerially transported within the Kongo territories to hospitals of higher status in Kenya and South African Republic. The team comprises two groups od doctors and technicians rotating.
