Minister in Podgorica

Defense Ministers of Serbia and Montenegro Dragan Sutanovac and Boro Vucinic signed an Agreement of Making Available the flight simulator for Supergaleb G-4 which will be used for the training of SAF.

After the Agreement was signed, Minister Sutanovac stated that this was a small step for both ministries, but that it would make a positive impact on the relations between the two countries which as he estimated were at an unacceptably low level.

Vucinic said that the signing of this agreement represented the test of Montenegro’s good faith reiterating that Montenegro’s strategic stance if to develop good relations with its neighbours and to become a factor of stability.
Sutanovac said that this flight simulator was important for the SAF announcing that the talks regarding the issues of Supergaleb planes which remained at Podgorica air base after the dissolution of Serbia and Montenegro would continue.

He said that the education of military cadets at the Military academy would continue and that we would consider opening MMA to the Montenegrin army and citizens as well.

Minister of Defense of Montenegro accepted the invitation to visit Belgrade saying that the relations between the two ministries were satisfactory but could be a lot better, but stressed that the relations could be much better than they had been so far.

The Montenegrin minister stated that the army supported Serbia’s idea to form a regional center for NBC training in Krusevac, where Montenegrin soldiers would also be trained, and invited them to be part of the Jadran training ship’s crew.

AS he announced, the army of Montenegro will keep the helicopter escadrille which is why the budget envisions the repair of 2 Gazella Gama helicopters in Moma Stanojlovic repair institute.

Both ministers expressed their hope that Serbia’s request that part of Golubovci air base be placed to SAF’s disposal would be resolved positively.
