130th anniversary of military press and 24 January –the Day of Odbrana magazine were celebrated, as Odbrana continues the traditions of Ratnik magazine, the first military magazine founded by the then army minister Jovan Miskovic.

The defense system has been awarded 72,763 billion dinars, which is, a little more than 2.1 of GDP. 2.5 of self income are included into these funds. The budget without military pensions and the money from the National Investment Fund has been increased by 4.5 %. This increase if less than the projected inflation rate. The total realization of MoD’s budgetary obligations for 2008 was 98 %.

An exhibition of papers, magazines, other publications and photos testifying to the tradition of the military written word which is 130 years old was given in the Military Museum,. This exhibition was jointly prepared by the Military Museum, the Center for Documentation. And Odbrana publishing center. The exhibition is open till 22 February.
