The Day of the Fourth Brigade marked
IN the VRanje-based barracks a ceremony celebrating the Day of the Fourth Brigade was held today. In his address Brigadier General Milosav Simovic stressed that the main task of this unit was to provide and maintain peace for all citizens of Serbia regardless of their national, religious and political views.In his welcome speech, the Chief of the Army Command HQ Brigadier General Vojin Jondic said that the members of the Fourth Brigade had much to be proud of and that the citizens of Pcinj, and Jablanica district should also be proud of them. The members of the brigade, in performing their duties along the administrative border line with KIM have raised their capabilities to ac very high level.
The Mayor of Vranje Miroljub Stojcic pointed out that the members of the Fourth Brigade, while continuing the traditions of the First Infantry Regiment of Knez Milos, demonstrated that we have an army worthy of respect which also acts as a guarantor of trust and stability in the south of Serbia.The ceremony was attended by the Head of the Pcinj district Budimir Mihajlovic. And the presidents of Vladicin Han and Crna Trava as well as the representatives of the coordination body for Kosovo as well as the representatives of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
The day of the fourth brigade is commemorated on 31 January when in 1878 the Sumadija corps liberated Vranje
