Members of the 63rd Parachute Brigade perform a night jump from 4,500 m

Minister Vulin: The paratroopers are equipped with the most modern equipment

Tonight, the Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin and the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilović, visited the members of the 63rd Parachute Brigade, who are conducting training at the "Sergeant Pilot Mihajlo Petrović" military airport in Niš.

Minister Vulin confirmed that night jumps are the most demanding and complex part of the training.
- Not every paratrooper can do what was done tonight above the city of Niš, and those who can, can say that they have reached the maximum in their development and work. The night jump in difficult conditions, when the wind is blowing and the weather conditions are bad, is proof that these people have undergone the most complex training and that they are capable of performing everything that a parachutist can do - Minister Vulin pointed out.

He added that the paratroopers are equipped with the most modern parachutes and the best possible equipment.

- We have also invested in their standard of living, we have raised the level of their unit from the battalion level back to brigade level, but they are repaying us for it and showing that it is worth investing in them - said the Minister of Defence who took the opportunity to thank the Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces for being there tonight and for "helping the 63rd Parachute Brigade become what it is now".
Captain Mladen Stamenković, commander of the parachute training company in the 63rd Parachute Brigade, played the role of the officer conducting parachute jump training tonight.

- A little while ago, we performed a jump using the High-Altitude High-Opening technique. We jumped from an altitude of 4,500 meters, above Prokuplje, about thirty kilometres from the drop zone. We flew with open parachutes and landed on the drop zone at the airport - said Captain Stamenković, who confirmed that this is a type of training conducted as part of "advanced parachute training" in the 63rd Parachute Brigade, but it is also regularly performed afterwards, through parachute jumps.
Tonight, the Deputy Commander of the Joint Operations Command, Major General Ilija Todorov, also attended the most complex part of the training, night-time high-altitude parachute jump with individual weapons and equipment.
