Minister Vulin and General Ravkov attend practice within the framework of "Slavic Brotherhood 2019" Exercise
Minister of Defense Aleksandar Vulin and Minister of Defense of the Republic of Belarus, Lieutenant-General Andrei Ravkov, accompanied by the Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilović, attended today practice within the framework of the “Slavic Brotherhood 2019” Exercise at the military complex “Orešac”.
After the demonstration, Minister Vulin pointed out that all preparations for the exercise “Slavic Brotherhood 2019” are going according to plan and expressed satisfaction that General Ravkov and he had the opportunity to make sure that the units were highly trained, motivated and compatible.
- The Serbian Armed Forces are able to demonstrate and teach much larger Armed Forces what they have learned from our rich war and military experiences. Everything that we have seen here falls into daily engagement of our units and we have shown what our units would actually do. You could see the Special Brigade and the River Fleet, you could see that everyone is doing their job and we can say that colleagues from Belarus are very pleased with what they have seen, and I am sure that the representatives of the Russian Federation would express the same satisfaction - emphasized Minister Vulin.The Serbian Armed Forces, said the Minister of Defense, is an Armed Force that knows how to operate and consists of trained and highly motivated people.
- Members of the Armed Forces have shown today a part of the new equipment they possess, as well as the capability to learn from others, but also to teach others – concluded Minister Vulin.
Minister Vulin and General Ravkov attended segments of tactical training and team live firing at the Orešac firing range, as well as a demonstration of the training for overcoming water obstacles and landing across the Danube River on the Danube-Tisa-Danube Channel.
Speaking about the segments of training presented, Commander of 72 Reconnaissance and Diversion Battalion of the Special Brigade of the Serbian Armed Forces, Colonel Dragan Kužet pointed out that as part of the preparation, in addition to firing, landing of people and assets across the Danube River, which is one of the basic tasks at the exercise, was shown.
- Exercise is extensive and somewhat complicated, since in this segment people and assets need to be joined, both from the multinational force taking part in the exercise, and the equipment of the River Fleet, which is responsible for security and transportation of assets and personnel to the other side – said Lieutenant Colonel Kužet, adding that after this, members of multinational forces are fully prepared for further training necessary for the implementation of the exercise “Slavic Brotherhood”.
More than 750 members of the Serbian Armed Forces, the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus are participating in the multi-national tactical exercise with live firing of the “Slavic Brotherhood 2019”, conducted under the working title of “Multinational Forces in Counter Terrorism Operation”.The Special Brigade of the Serbian Armed Forces is for the third time hosting the trilateral multinational exercise “Slavic Brotherhood 2019”, which is taking place 14-27 June 2019 at “Kovin” Airport and military complexes “Orešac’ and “Peskovi”.
Today’s demonstration was also attended by Assistant Minister for Material Resources, Nenad Miloradovic, PhD, Chief of the Directorate for Planning and Development of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, Brigadier General Milan Popović, Commander of the Special Brigade of the Serbian Armed Forces, Brigadier General Miroslav Talijan and Chief of the Department for International Military Cooperation, Colonel Milan Ranković.
