Minister Vulin: Resolution 1244 has never been fully implemented

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the adoption of UN Security Council Resolution 1244, Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin said that the resolution stopped hostilities but essential peace has never been achieved.

- The international community has not fulfilled its obligations, 250,000 Serbs have never returned to their homes, their property rights are not respected even today. Since the arrival of the international community to date, more than 1,000 Serbs have been killed in Kosovo and Metohija and almost no one was held accountable for it. The Shqiptar terrorists continued to kill, to chase. No one has been punished for the pogrom of 2004, and in 2008 there was an attempt of proclamation of the false state of Kosovo - Minister Vulin reminded.

According to him, Resolution 1244 is a document for which the Serbian people cannot be happy, but they must demand its full implementation.

- The resolution that imposed a foreign authority on the part of our territory, which introduced the international community in the place where our courts should be, where our state should be, is a difficult resolution for us. The resolution that we had to accept, the resolution that we accepted, but the resolution that has never been fulfilled and never fully implemented. Over the past 20 years, the international community has not behaved well either towards Serbia or towards Serbs or even towards the international law. If it did, the Resolution 1244 would have been implemented and at least the crimes would have been punished; at least the elementary human rights of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija would be preserved and improved – Minister Vulin said.
