Meeting of Minister Vulin with General Broeks




Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin met today in Belgrade the Director General of the International Military Staff of NATO, Lieutenant General Jan Broeks. During the meeting they discussed the current situation in Kosovo and Metohija.
 
Minister Vulin underlined the good cooperation between the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces with NATO under the auspices of the Partnership for Peace Programme
 
As the minister of defence stressed, the change of the purpose and task of “Kosovo Security Forces” into “Armed Forces of Kosovo” is absolutely unacceptable for Serbia and it represents flagrant violation of United Nations Security Council Resolution 1244 and of the Military Technical Agreement.
 
-For Serbia, KFOR represents the only legitimate armed formation in Kosovo and Metohija- Minister Vulin pointed out and added that Serbian population in Kosovo and Metohija saw it as the sole guarantee of its safety and security. Also, Minister Vulin requested that KFOR remained in its full capacity on the field and not to reduce its strength.
 
The minister of defence state that Serbia remained devoted to its military neutrality and that owing to that it realised cooperation with partners both in the West and East.
