Zoran Djordjevic elected as Minister of Defence



On the proposal of the Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic, at the first special session of the National Assembly in 2016, Zoran Djordjevic was elected as the minister of defence, and then, as a member of the Government, he sworn in before the National Assembly.
 
Zoran Djordjevic is Master in Economics – Expertise: International Banking and Finance, a joint program in English language of the Panteion University, Athens, Greece - Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, and the Faculty of International Economics, Belgrade. He completed the School of National Defence – Advanced Security and Defence Studies. He is about to complete his doctoral studies; submitted the doctoral dissertation in the field of Economics, with orientation to Financial Control, Management, Reporting and Auditing, at the University Business Academy, Novi Sad.
 
He gained his professional experience at managerial positions in the areas of financial and executive management in renowned national and international companies (Comtrade, Kabel-X ...).and he was at the position of the State Secretary in the Ministry of Defence from August 2012 until today.
 
He is closely focused on International Finance and Banking, Financial Control and Management, Financial Reporting and Auditing. He has published several papers in leading national and international scientific and professional journals in economics and finance.
 
He is the President of the Gender Equality Council of the Government of the Republic of Serbia and the National Armaments Director.
 
He has received many reputable professional certificates, and, among other awards, the "Mihailo Petrovic-Alas" award in the field of Mathematics. He is a member of the Association of Mensa Serbia. He speaks English and Russian.
 
He was born in Belgrade in 1970. He is married and has two children.
