International conference "Great War, Serbia, the Balkans and Great Powers"



The Strategic Research Institute and the Historical Institute from Belgrade are organizing an international scientific conference “Great War, Serbia, the Balkans and Great Powers” on September 24-25, 2014.

The conference will be opened by Head of the General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic on September 24 at 9.00 at the Central Military Club in Belgrade.

At the conference, 42 university professors and researchers from military and civilian institutes from 15 countries will participate (Serbia, Germany, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Belgium, Russia, France, Montenegro, Slovenia, Macedonia, Italy, Japan, Austria and Hungary).

The conference is dedicated to marking the centenary of the beginning of the Great War, and the organizers’ intention was for the participants to contribute, with their professional and original studies, to clarifying the issues that have not been the subjects of analyses so far, that is to point out new facts and provide new interpretations. The working languages of the conference are Serbian and English.
