Gen Dikovic at the meeting of the Military Committee in Brussels
SAF CHOD General Ljubisa Diković participated in a meeting of the Euro-Atlantic Partnership Military Committee, which is at the level of chiefs of staff of the armed forces of NATO member states and Partnership for Peace program signatories which was held in Brussels today.
The meeting discussed the main effect of the implementation of the new structure of the military cooperation between the Partnerships and security issues in the maritime , air and land environments . The new structure of military cooperation has been strengthened by additional positions , particularly in command at the operational level , thus creating conditions for improving the overall efficiency and quality of support to partner countries in the implementation of practical military cooperation .
On the sidelines of the meeting, general Diković met with the Chairman of the Military Committee of the European Union General Patrick de Rousiers. Emphasizing the importance of the first intergovernmental conference Serbia - European Union in terms of Serbia's accession to the European Union , general Diković expressed his belief that the military committee can fully help identify areas where the Serbian Army could contribute to the common security and defense policy .
Participation in the operations of the European Union crisis management , building trust and strengthening military cooperation in the region remains top priority of the Army of Serbia and in the future. General de Rousiers,has positively assessed the engagement of the Army of Serbia in the operations of the European Union crisis management . Both sides agreed that the visit of General Diković to the European Union Military Committee , which is scheduled for November could contribute to the promotion of mutual cooperation .
General Diković was at a reception organized by the Mission of the Republic of Serbia to the European Union on the occasion of the first intergovernmental conference Serbia - the European Union , which is a festive way to mark the beginning of accession negotiations.
