Minister Stefanović meets with UNDP Resident Representative Ms Francine Pickup



Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, met with the UNDP Resident Representative in the Republic of Serbia, Ms Francine Pickup, today.
During the conversation, Minister Stefanović thanked Ms Pickup for the engagement and assistance of the UNDP Office in Belgrade in the implementation of several projects in the field of gender equality. Minister Stefanović emphasized his commitment to strengthening the role of women in the security sector and public life in general from the very beginning of his political engagement and noted that this would remain one of his priorities in his new position.

The UNDP Resident Representative, Ms Francine Pickup, congratulated Minister Stefanović on his appointment as Minister of Defence and said she was glad that they would have the opportunity to continue the cooperation. She commended the results of the Ministry of Defence's participation in the "Strengthening of Regional Cooperation on Gender Mainstreaming in Security Sector Reform in the Western Balkans" regional project, expressing hope that they would continue the cooperation with equal intensity.
