Serbian-Russian Commemoration in the Memorial Complex “Čačalica“



The delegation of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, led by Brigadier General Petar Latković, laid wreaths today in the Memorial Complex “Čačalica” in Požarevac as part of the state ceremony to pay tribute to the soldiers and civilians who died in the Second World War.
The commemoration, with state and military honours, began with the wreath-laying ceremony and paying tribute at the Memorial Ossuary of the fallen members of the Red Army, and then the delegations paid tribute to the victims at the Memorial Ossuary of the patriots who died in the Second World War.

Wreaths were laid by the Minister of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Zoran Đorđević, who led the state ceremony, representatives of the City of Požarevac, diplomatic representatives of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus, representatives of the All-Serbian Cossack Union and other associations dedicated to nurturing the traditions of the Serbian Liberation Wars and the Serbian-Russian friendship.
The organizer of the commemoration is the Committee of the Government of the Republic of Serbia for the Nurturing of Traditions of the Serbian Liberation Wars.
