Minister Vulin: Agreement of Supreme Commanders Vučić and Putin are being implemented and will continue to yield results
Minister of Defense Aleksandar Vulin, who is visiting the Russian Federation at the invitation of his Russian colleague, met with the Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation, Army General Sergey Shoygu.
Minister Shoygu, who addressed his Serbian colleague Vulin with “dear friend”, said that he was happy they met once again and that the cooperation between Serbian and Russia is long lasting and constantly developing, which is immediately visible at the military exercises, Army Games International in which our representatives participate together.
“All this helps to improve the relations between our officers and also the Armed Forces of our two countries. Another important thing is that the military-technical cooperation of Russia and Serbia is developing. All that has been planned for this year is going to be implemented” said the Russian Minister of Defense.Following the meeting with his Russian colleague, Minister Vulin said that he discussed with his Russian Colleague the continuation of the military-technical cooperation and the manner in which the agreement between the two Supreme Commanders, President Putin and President Vučić was being implemented.
“Minister Shoygu expressed his respect for President Vučić and our policy of military neutrality and free state and invited President Vučić, as well as our Honor Company to take participation at the parade commemorating 75 years of victory. We won together, and we should celebrate together. Serbian Armed Forces will appear at the Red Square on 9 May with their Supreme Commander, in the company of all other victorious countries, all of us who fought against fascism, as representatives of the free nations, free nations that we were then and that we remain to the day” said Miniser Vulin.
He added that the Serbian Armed Forces will continue to cooperate with the Armed Forces of Russia.
“Military-technical cooperation is being implemented in accordance with the contarct, all deadlines are being fully observed and we can conclude with satisfaction that the agreement of the two Presidents will continue to yield excellent results. It has even so far contributed to the development of our relations, but also our combat readiness. Minister Shoygu has accepted the invitation of President Vučić to visit Serbia, and the date will be agreed upon in the forthcoming period,” said Serbian Minister of Defense.Ministers Vulin and Shoygu attended the closing ceremony of the fifth “Army Games International” that were held across 21 training grounds and 10 countries: Russian Federation, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Mongolia and Uzbekistan. 223 teams from 39 countries from Europe, Asia, Africa, Central and Latin Americas took participation. At the Patriot Park, at the closing ceremony of the Games, Serbian singer Jelena Tomašević as well as a part of the Art Ensemble of the Ministry of Defense “Stanislav Binički” are participating.
