Legal Service Day marked
Today, members of the Legal Service of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces observed their holiday – the Legal Service Day, at the boat “Kozara” in Novi Sad.
Secretary of the Ministry of Defence Zoran Lazić, greeted representatives of the Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces and the town of Novi Sad as well as the guests who attended the celebration.
Within the celebration, the guests sailed by the boat from Novi Sad to Sremski Karlovci and in Sremski Karlovci they visited the Patriarchate of the Serbian Orthodox Church.
On tenth May 1864, a Military Judicial Code was passed in Serbia which defined organisation and procedures of military courts in regular circumstances and emergencies. Military Juridical Bodies terminated their work on 31st May 2004. This date is related to traditions of the Legal Service in the Serbian Armed Forces and Ministry of Defence. A large portion of jurisdiction of former military judiciary bodies was transferred to military disciplinary courts.
