Minister Vulin: Ministry of Defence and Serbian Armed Forces take care of their members
Today, at in the Great War Hall of the old General Staff building, Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin and Lieutenant General Milan Mojsilović, Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, have handed over the keys of 23 apartments to members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces.
After the key-allocating ceremony, Minister Vulin pointed out that all those who tie their fate to the the Ministry of Defence, to the Serbian Armed Forces, can be sure that they will be taken care of from the day they join the Serbian Armed Forces until the last day.
- Last year we resolved the housing issue for 747 of our members, and this year we are continuing with this practice. We are particularly grateful for the initiative of the President of the Republic of Serbia and Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, for the construction of apartments that are very affordable, high quality, for all members of the security structures, in particular for the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces. That is why we are very proud that the construction of apartments in Niš and Vranje started, the Defence Minister said, as he uses weekend leave just like all members of the reserve forces on training, and on Monday he will assume his position in the unit in which he serves.
According to him, this year there will be an increase in the number of those who will solve their housing issue in this way.
- In this way, we will prove once again how much Serbia likes its Armed Forces, how much it respects its Armed Forces, and how anyone who becomes part of the Serbian Armed Forces can be sure that they and their families will be taken care of, Minister Vulin said.
First Sergeant Jovica Deljanin has managed today to “pitch his tent”.
- I received a flat in Paunova Street, in Belgrade. I am satisfied with my 58 square metres. My wife, a child and I, we are all happy – First Sergeant Deljanin said and thanked the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces for the apartment he received.
Milanka Katanić is among those who have resolved their housing issue today.
- After 40 years of service, I received a housing unit, my roof over my head. I am satisfied and more than happy. I received a flat in Belgrade. Excitement is high, because the roof over the head is a big thing in life – she said.
The apartments to which the active and retired members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces will move are located in Belgrade, Apatin, Zrenjanin, Kraljevo, Kruševac, Niš and Subotica.
