Minister Vulin: Serbia is proud of its armed forces

Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin said today in an interview to TV Most that he was grateful to the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, for providing support during the preparation of the exercise “Century of Victors 1918-2018” but also for all the years "when he began to create from a demoralized, almost closed army in 2012 an army that has now shown to be able to cope with all the challenges.

- At the “Century of Victors” exercise, we demonstrated a modern army capable of responding to every challenge, that is capable of fighting at the same time in 10 different locations and carrying out every task. There are not many armies in the world that can do this, especially to do it with organic units. So the units that are exactly the kind they are. We did not make the combined units, we did not bring the Special Brigade to play an infantry, in many places we did not bring the best shooters waiting for them to complete one task in order to take pictures at some other task, Minister Vulin said.

He pointed out that each of the units, 8,000 people is a significant part of our army, showed what it was trained and equipped for.

- You could see that the materiel was at the highest possible level, that the army acted in accordance with the tactical plan, executed every order, but what you could not see, and I am pleased to be able to convey it to you, it is the morale of the army and all the participants in the exercise who were not only satisfied that they could show what they knew to Serbia, but they were sincerely proud of the Armed Forcres they belong to. The exercise included 8,000 people, we did not have any single disciplinary offense, we even had a reduced number of sick leaves for this time of the year. People wanted to practice, to be in their army, the defence minister said.
