Defence Minister extends greetings on the Day of the Music Service
I extend to all members of the Music Service my best wishes as they celebrate 10th January – the Day of the service.
Continuing more than a century and a half long tradition, when in 1845 the Army Law stipulated that the military band consisted of 50 musicians, the members of the Music Service have followed the continuous artistic tradition of preserving and nurturing the soldiers’ songs and other musical forms.
Military musicians and orchestras occupy a significant place in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces. With the choice of a good repertoire, they have an indisputable effect in creating a system of values and taste of the audience of the military and civil population. In the past period, in a dignified manner, they have presented the artistic being of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces and affirmed themselves as a musical collective of the high quality. Military orchestras are a true indication of the value of military heritage in this field.
I congratulate you on your holiday and wish you to improve the work in your service and achieve successful results, which will contribute to the development of culture and traditions and the building of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence as a whole.
