Undersecretary Spasojevic in UK

 Undersecretary for Defense Policy Dusan Spasojevic who is leading the Serbian MoD delegation in its official visit to UK is ending the visit today.
At the separate meetings held with the Baroness Anne Taylor, UK Minister for International Security and Defense and Gloria Craig, the Director for the International Defense Policy various aspects of bilateral military cooperation were considered with the focus on defining the priorities of cooperation in the future period.
Considering the questions relating to political and security situation in the region, both sides agreed that promoting cooperation in the area of defense was a precondition for a lasting regional stability. The Ministry of Defense of Serbia and the Serbian Armed Forces in this respect, as was stated, were giving maximum contribution to building security in the Balkans.
As Undersecretary Spasojevic stressed, Serbia was ready to intensify its participation in multinational operations as a responsible member of international community thus contributing to building global security.Furthermore, Serbia wishes to use all the mechanisms available in the Partnership for Peace Program for the purposes of reforming its defense system and building a modern system of security.
During the talks with Tim Hitchens, the Director for Political Affairs in the UK Ministry of Foreign, various issues relating to the situation in the region were considered. Spasojevic introduced his host with the security situation in the south of central Serbia, presenting the stances of state policy as regards the situation in the Serbian southern province while also discussing Serbia’s European integrations.
Spasojevic had meetings in the British Parliament and the plan for today is for the Undersecretary Spasojevic to give a lecture at the Institute for International Strategic Studies in London (IISS).
