Undersecretaries of MoD Vesic and Jeftic visit Kopaonik

 Defense Undersecretaries Zoran Vesic MD and Zoran Jeftic, PhD visited the trauma MMA center on Mt. Kopaonik where they also spoke to the cadets of the Military Academy who are undergoing regular ski training and are stationed on the Pancic Summit.
The MoD officials at our home most popular ski grounds, Undersecretaries pointed to the significance it has for the members of SAF and the guests of Kopaonik.
 Undersecretary Vesic emphasized on this occasion that the trauma center’s priority task was to provide medical services to SAF members and MA cadets.
The center provides all necessary medical assistance, as it has an on-call team of doctors with an on-call orthopedic. Furthermore, the trauma center has a digital CAT scan and the most advanced lab which can provide service to all those patients not in need of a surgical intervention, as Vesic emphasized.
 During the visit, the undersecretaries were informed that since the center was opened, more than 80 injuries in 132 patients have been treated here. The center also treated heavy fractures of knees, shoulders and shins.
The center is equipped with the state-of-the-art equipment and performs a total of 15 various interventions on a daily basis.
- This does not only increase the quality of health care for SAF members but also improve the quality of health care of the whole tourist center as Vesic said adding that there is not a single ski center in the area with such a high level of medical service.
- After meeting with cadets, Undersecretary Zoran Jeftic, PhD underlined the importance and quality of center’s conditions for the ski training of SAF members.
- The MMA ski center meets all the needs of our armed forces. It has over 2000 cadets, members of Special Forces, of the SAF Air Force and of the Army. A number of activities have been launched to boost the accommodation capacities and to improve the working and living conditions for the members of the defense system stationed there. This is why this trauma center in cooperation with the communal service “Serbia ski grounds” and the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development has been established.
The MoD delegation together with the Head of the IT Department of SAF Major General Radivoj Vukobradovic visited the stationary hub of the connections at the highest peak of the mountain. They were informed of the equipment used and the way of life in the facility.
