Meeting of the Minister of Defence with the Ambassador of Denmark



Minister of Defence Nebojša Rodić and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Denmark in Belgrade, Michael Borg-Hansen have talked today about the cooperation in the field of defence.

It has been pointed out that the Kingdom of Denmark is one of the most important donour countries for the Ministry of Defence through the expert and financial support. The initiative was launched for the signing of the Agreement on Cooperation in the Field of Defence what would significantly enhance bilateral cooperation.

The priority field of cooperation is the military air force. The Kingdom of Denmark has supported the establishing of the Regional Search and Rescue Centre by donating the storage tanks and IT equipment, training of employed personnel, and supporting the membership of the Republic of Serbia in the "COSPAS-SARSAT" – search and rescue satellite aided tracking.

The Kingdom of Denmark is also the first country per umber of donations of IT equipment and thanks to that support three multimedia classrooms in Novi Sad, Gornji Milanovac and Niš were formed which were used also during the execution of the exercise "Combined Endeavor". Denmark also gives a considerable IT support for the preparation of the exercise "LOGEX 15", which will be held in our country in April next year.

During the talks it was pointed out that the cooperation of the two countries is developed also in the field of military medicine and military education. Denmark has supported the establishing and the connection of the psychology test centres while the project for establishing the Centre for advanced psychological activities was also launched. The Ministry of Defence of the Kingdom of Denmark strongly supports the learning of the English language for the members of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces within the PELT programme.

The Minister of Defence has thanked the Kingdom of Denmark for the support it gives to the European integrations of our country and for the support within the cooperation through the Partnership for Peace Programme.
