Minister of Defence and Chief of General Staff at the booth of Odbrana Media Centre



On the fifth day of the Book Fair, booth of Odbrana Media Centre was visited by the Defence Minister Nebojsa Rodic and the Serbian Armed Forces Chief of General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic with the members of the Collegiums. On that occasion they attended promotions of two new editions of the Media Centre in history. These are the books "Serbian Army in the Great War 1914-1918" by Dusan Babac, and the monograph "Two centuries of army in Branicevo" by Colonel Milivoje Pajovic and Jasmina Nikolic.

The guests were welcomed by the Head of Public Relations Department, Colonel Petar Boskovic, and the Director of the Odbrana Media Centre Colonel Slavoljub Markovic informed them about the participation of this institution in the 58th International Book Fair. Editor-in-Chief of publishing activities of the Odbrana Media Centre Dragana Markovic pointed out that among the 400 titles that have been prepared for the fair, there are twenty new books, among which are the two that have been mentioned.

Speakers about the book "Serbian Army in the Great War 1914-1918", which is topical because of the jubilee which we are going to celebrate – the centenary of the First World War, were Professor Mile Bjelajac and author Dusan Babac. Great epic of the Serbian army in the First World War is presented on 306 pages and with more than 500 photographs, many of which were published for the first time.

Mile Bjelajac pointed out that the publisher, Odbrana Media Centre got into a permanent "ownership" one of valuable authors, while the author, after many years of trying to promote a way of presenting our past not only in Serbo-Yugoslav territory but also abroad, found the right publishing house.

The monograph "Two centuries of army in Branicevo" was presented by Dr Bojan Dimitrijevic, who wrote a chapter in that book, and one of the authors, Colonel Milivoje Pajovic, MSc. Branicevo is the region which is extremely rich in military history since this is the place where Guard was established in 1830, then a military hospital, military music band ...

At the end of the promotion, Colonel Petar Boskovic presented a signed copy of the book "Serbian Army in the Great War 1914-1918 " to the Minister of Defence and Chief of General Staff, and then they bought the books that they are interested in, in the booth of the Odbrana Media Centre and visited the book fair.
