Military Healthcare Service stronger for 113 health workers
Continuation of President Vučić’s policy on how to retain and keep personnel
Establishing permanent employment relationship for 113 medical workers to work mainly at the Military Medical Academy, Niš Military Hospital, Novi Sad Military Hospital, generally in military healthcare service, is a continuation of President Vučić’s policy on how to retain and how to keep personnel in our system. These are people who have long been waiting for establishing permanent employment relationship, but they are also people who love their country and profession and who in this way show that they want to stay there – Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin said in presence of Brigadier General Uglješa Jovičić, PhD, Head of the Military Health Department, presenting today 113 permanent employment certificates to members of the Military Health Department in the Great War Hall of the Old General Staff building.
According to him, every progress of our policy is measured against the effect we made on people's lives to be better and easier.- Members of the military health service today can say for themselves that their work is appreciated, that they will remain here and will continue to contribute through their work to their country and the military – Minister Vulin said.
Speaking about the significance of today's ceremony, General Jovičić, Head of the Military Health Department, pointed out that this was a great day for military healthcare service, adding that in his long medical and military career he had not experienced that more than 100 people established permanent employment relationship in one day thus empowering military healthcare service in terms of personnel.
- Along with marking the jubilee of 180 years of existence of military healthcare service this year, this is the best message and congratulation. I wish to thank Minister Vulin and the leadership of the Ministry of Defence who recognised the need for a good personnel policy in military healthcare service – Dr Jovičić emphasized, adding that it is a pleasure today to be here and watch these young people and their enthusiasm, which represents the future of the military healthcare service.
As Colonel Dr Miroslav Vukosavljević, Head of the Military Medical Academy, pointed out, 105 persons of medical profession and other profiles were admitted to this institution.
- It is a great success for the MMA and for the military healthcare service: but also for the Ministry of Defence in general. We are immensely grateful and I would like to emphasise that what the minister of defence promised in July 2017 has been fulfilled today – Colonel Dr Vukosavljević said, adding that they admitted verified personnel and people who like the MMA, and that he is sure that their future work will be a confirmation of the confidence shown.
Among those who have received permanent employment certificates today there is also a pharmaceutics specialist Neva Medić, who has been employed in the MMA Pharmaceutical Service for eight years.
- It is a great luck, we all won it together and I would like to thank the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, especially the military healthcare service, because our professions are specific, we are with our patients while being engaged in permanent professional development, and this permanent employment contract is a great deal of relief – Neva Medić underlines, adding that this status opens up possibilities for planning a safer future.The permanent employment contract has also been presented today to Dr Nemanja Rančić, an associate researcher, who has been employed at the MMA Clinical Pharmacology Centre since 2012 under a fixed-term contract.
- This is a great moment not only for me, but for my entire family, because of our common security and stability. Professionally, this means a lot to me, because I can make progress, because I can further build my teaching career – Dr Rančić said.
Pursuant to the decisions of the Minister of Defence made in February and March 2019, persons who have been employed under a fixed-term contract and under the contract on occasional and temporary work were afforded permanent employment certificate to work in the Military Health Department, thus preventing the outflow of personnel from the defective branches of medicine and pharmacy.
It is about medical technicians, then doctors, pharmacists and other occupations in military medicine. In this way, an important solution has been made in the field of personnel policy, which greatly contributes to the strengthening the military healthcare service and is the continuation of investment in the military medical care of our country.
