At the Centre for training and advanced training of NCOs in Pancevo barracks "National Hero Stevica Jovanovic" a ceremony was held at which 223 attendants from 6th and 7th classes were promoted into first NCO rank, who were until yesterday the best professional soldiers of the Serbian Armed Forces, including 39 women. Addressing the newly promoted NCOs, Chief of General Staff Ljubisa Dikovic pointed out that
the non-commissioned officers, during the turbulent history of our fatherland, had given an important contribution to the execution of all tasks of the army.
- Without good NCOs there are no good units or soldiers, and without good units and soldiers, there can be no army and no victory. So, to become a non-commissioned officer is a great honour and an even greater responsibility - General Dikovic said and asked the youngest non-commissioned officers to be proud of what they had achieved so far, but to still work hard in the future.
- You can expect responsible and hard work in the units, with people and technology. You are looking at possibilities for professional and career development and career advancement, and what you will achieve depends primarily on you and your results. Your work, in addition to military leaders and

- You can expect responsible and hard work in the units, with people and technology. You are looking at possibilities for professional and career development and career advancement, and what you will achieve depends primarily on you and your results. Your work, in addition to military leaders and
commanders, will be monitored by first and senior non-commissioned officers. Learn from them, look up to them and follow in their path. Wearing your new rank proudly, with an even stronger will, devote to training, and strengthen military collectives and military virtues of discipline in your units. That way you will contribute to improving their operational capabilities. A sergeant is the leader to his soldiers, their military role model, and therefore his authority must be built on knowledge and personal example - General Dikovic said.
He stressed that the Serbian Armed Forces is firmly committed to maintaining and strengthening its operational capabilities, executing all tasks, fostering our military traditions and preserving the strong bonds between the army and the people and that its readiness will also be demonstrated tomorrow in Belgrade, together with members of the Ministry of Interior and Security Information Agency during the large exercise titled "Shield".
- Do not doubt that we will, if and when needed, be a shield for all citizens of Serbia, a fatal sword for those who dare to attack them - General Dikovic concluded.
The youngest sergeants of the Serbian Armed Forces were also addressed by Commander of the Training Command Lt. Gen. Djokica Petrovic, who pointed out that since the establishment of the Centre for training and advanced training of NCOs in 2010 this was the most numerous echelon of youngest sergeant who after 32 weeks of hard and intensive training are ready to enter the initial duties in units of the Serbian Armed Forces.
The best attendants of both classes were presented acknowledgements for their achievements. Chief of General Staff General Ljubisa Dikovic presented a wristwatch to infantry Sergeant Tamara Morovic (6th class, average 4.93), member of the Military Police Battalion of Special Purpose "Cobra" and to infantry Sergeant Ivan Jeremic from the Special Army Brigade (7th class, 5.00) while the second and third in the rank of 6th and 7th class were presented awards by Commander of the Training Command Lt. Gen. Djokica Petrovic and Chief NCO of the Serbian Armed Forces Sergeant First Class Milojko Milosavljevic.
