Members of the Macedonian Army in Obrenovac seen off



Part of the members of the Macedonian Army who were engaged in providing assistance to Serbia during the emergency situation, have been seen off today in Obrenovac, while other part remained to continue helping. They arrived to the flooded Belgrade municipality on Saturday, 17th May.

On behalf of the Serbian CHOD General Dikovic and the Serbian Armed Forces General Staff, members of the Macedonian Army were greeted by Major General Sladjan Djordjevic, Head of Human Resources Department, who thanked all the engaged members for their help, adding that this situation has improved cooperation between the two countries and two armies.

The Macedonian Government has sent to Obrenovac 15 soldiers and 25 members of the Directorate for Protection and Rescue, then pumps, boats and generators. They were engaged in the evacuation of residents in Obrenovac, pumping water at critical areas and delivering electrical power to the substations using generators.

Members of the Macedonian Army highlighted that the cooperation with members of the Serbian Armed Forces was at the highest level, and thanked for the good organization during their stay in Obrenovac.
