Meeting of Multinational Advisory Group



Within the Serbian Chairmanship of RACVIAC – Centre for Security Cooperation, 31st meeting of the Multinational Advisory Group (MAG), which is the highest decision-making body of the organization, was held in Belgrade on 15 and 16 April 2014. It was attended by 16 states and two international organizations.

Milan Mojsilovic, Head of the Military Branch of the Mission of Republic of Serbia to NATO, in his capacity as Chairperson of MAG RACVIAC, expressed his satisfaction with the opportunity to welcome on behalf of the Defence Minister Nebojsa Rodic, the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces the participants of the 31st meeting of the Multinational Advisory Group. He stressed that only by further development of the platform of common dialogue we can contribute to a real improvement of mutual cooperation and stability in the region of Southeast Europe.

On behalf of the Centre for Security Cooperation the gathering was addressed by RACVIAC Director Ambassador Branimir Mandic.

Chairing the Multinational Advisory Group, the Republic of Serbia, with its active presence in the region after seven years since the period 2005-2006, gained the opportunity again to demonstrate its strong commitment and dedication to the promotion of regional cooperation. In the spirit of proactive regional presence, as one of its main foreign policy goals, the Republic of Serbia has sought to promote the common values of all the countries in the region.

During its presidency, the Republic of Serbia presented its own capacities that can be offered in the region of Southeast Europe. The participants of the 31st meeting of MAG RACVIAC represented the capacity of the CBRN Personnel Training Centre, as a future partner in the activities of the Centre in the field of nuclear, chemical and biological protection and enforcement of international regulations and standards in this area.

The Republic of Serbia will, within the framework of its chairmanship, as host, continue to organize training of search and rescue services through conducting the course "Search and rescue (joint regional development in the field of search and rescue), a course for coordinators on the spot" , which is to be held in May 2014. Also, Serbia has hosted workshop on the implementation of the Code of Conduct on Politico-Military Aspects of Security, which was held in cooperation with Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe and RACVIAC, from 26th to 29th March 2014.
