Meeting of Deputy Minister of Defence Policy with the Ambassador of Tunisia
Assistant Minister for Defense Policy Miroslav Jovanovic met today with the Ambassador of the Republic of Tunisia in Belgrade, HE Majid Hamlaoui.
During the talks they confirmed the strong support of the top state leadership of the Republic of Tunisia in the preservation of the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia and their efforts for a peaceful and democratic solution to the status of Kosovo and Metohija, while respecting the UN Charter and Security Council resolutions.The Republic of Tunisia is committed to respect the provisions of international law, and stands for this position at meetings of regional organizations that bring together Arab and African countries.
It was pointed out that the good political relations between the two countries provide an excellent basis for the development and promotion of cooperation in the field of defence, and that there is mutual interest in further strengthening of the cooperation.
Both sides agreed that there are significant opportunities for expanding bilateral military cooperation between the two defence ministries, especially in the field of military education, military medicine and military economic cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, a common interest in the promotion and intensification of defence cooperation between the two parties was confirmed once again.
