The Minister of Defence Nebojsa Rodic visits Bulgaria
The Minister of Defence of the Republic of Serbia Nebojsa Rodic is paying an official visit to the Republic of Bulgaria at the invitation of the Minister of Defence Angela Najdenova. During the official talks at the Ministry of Defence it has been estimated that good bilateral relations , in which defense cooperation has an important place , have a positive impact on the security situation in the region.It was noted that bilateral cooperation in recent years has significantly improved in the areas of joint training and exercises , application of software for codification and simulation, military medicine , military geography and public relations. It was pointed out that the cooperation between the two air force is most intense and most developed within the aviation and missile units of the two armies which annually perform live fire exercise at the training ground " Shabla " in Bulgaria , with the Bulgarian Air Force pilots conducting training on a flight simulator of the MiG-29 aircraft at Batajnica airfield in Serbia .
It was concluded that under the conditions of a restrictive budgetary policy co-operation in these areas should continue to improve , and rational planning of joint activities should ensure the development of operational and functional capabilities of the two armies .The procedure of harmonizing the text of the Protocol on Cooperation in the field of military geography between the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Serbia and the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Bulgaria shall be completed as soon as possible , on order for the Protocol to be signed by the end of 2014.
At the end of the interview the protocol was signed between the defence ministries of the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Bulgaria for training in a flight simulator on the MiG -29 , which allows the continuation of cooperation in this area and throughout in 2014.
Before the welcoming ceremony , in which minister of defence laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier , and the official talks between the two delegations Minister Rodic laid a wreath at the Serbian war cemetery in Sofia , where the remains of 454 warriors who had laid their lives in the Balkan wars of 1912-1913 are buried , and died in captivity during World War I.
