Tour of the "Trmka" base in GSZ

Defence Minister Nebojsa Rodic and Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces , General Ljubisa Diković visited the Serbian Armed Forces engaged in the military base Trmka . On that occasion, the base commander Captain Alexander Spasojevic reported to the defence minister and SAF CHOD .

Minister Rodic expressed his pleasure at being able to spend Christmas Eve , which is traditionally spent with family and loved ones with members of the Army of Serbia , based in " Trmka ".

- When you come here to base " Trmka " then you are closest to those who are right next to you. From here to the first settlement is almost three kilometers and then it is familiarity , which in no way can be called into question - said the Minister Rodic , as a few days before in Novi Sad , will not disappoint the members of our armed forces brought lean sarmas as a gift.

According to him , all the citizens of Serbia have to see how far the base is and what great sacrifice is necessary for such work, as they are

driven by love for the homeland. It is also said , that in 2014 year we should not forget that we have to be worthy of our ancestors .

- Here , in the area of the base " Trmka " , are great challenges for organized crime , terrorism is always present , and the fact that our natural resources are destroyed and stolen , but also because of the constant deforestation. On many occasions SAF members are in danger . Therefore, here they come into first contact with those people who do not want best for Serbia and every citizen of Serbia – as Minister Rodic said, adding that because of that we owe gratitude to people in the base.

Assessing the security situation in the security zone along the administrative line Minister Rodic said that the Serbian Army, not only now , but in the time before is absolutely ready .

- I'd hate to see someone try and test this readiness. The forces stationed here are strong enough should anyone dare to try something, and before they even take some action they will be warned and forces to retreat to their starting position – as minister Rodic remarked adding that the government of our country is doing its best for the members of the Serbian Armed Forces to be able to use all weapons , technology and what is needed to defend the country.

The base " Trmka " is located in the zone of the Third Brigade , which covers 123 kilometers . Trmka village , on the southern slopes of Kopaonik , is located on the administrative line with Kosovo and Metohija . Ground Safety Zone (GSZ ) extends along the administrative border with the Republic of Serbia Autonomous Province of Kosovo and Metohija ( KiM) , 382 kilometers in length and 5 kilometers in width . It is divided into sectors (from the state border with the Republic of Montenegro to the regions between the base of the Serbian Army " Mrče " and " Trmka " ), B ( the regions between the base VS " Mrče " and " Trmka " to the regions between the base VS "Karaula " and " Terstena " ) and B1 ( the regions between the base VS "Karaula" and " Terstena " to the state border with the Republic of Macedonia).
