Minister Rodic at the "1914 Hero" film set

Defence Minister Nebojsa Rodic visited today the team of the documentary film "1914 Hero", at the village Pranjani near Gornji Milanovac which has been shooting the project for two weeks at that site.

Authors of the film, produced by "Vreme film", are Editor-in-Chief of the "Vreme" weekly Filip Svarm and Radoslav Cebic. Svarm pointed out that without the support and co-operation with the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces the film would not be realized.

- They helped us to get weapons and other equipment important for the period of 1914, and helped us by professional consultation. The film "1914 Hero" is very important project by which we are presenting an

essential segment of our history, truthfully, objectively and honestly, and it is of educational and national significance, the author pointed out.

Premiere of the film is scheduled for the next year, within the marking of a century since the beginning of the First World War. Film "1914 Hero" is not only addressing historical events, but ordinary Serbian soldiers and the conditions under which one of the biggest victories entered in the country's history was won. It focuses on the fate of a soldier, the peasant hero, the worst equipped combatant in the First World War.
