Minister Rodic meets with the ambassador of the Russian Federation

Defense Minister Nebojsa Rodic met today with Russian Ambassador to Belgrade Aleksandar Cepurin.

Both sides expressed satisfaction with the growing number of joint activities in the field of defense. Also the cooperation to the Regional humanitarian center in Nis , which will contribute to the protection of the Republic of Serbia and the region in case of emergencies has been highlighted during the talks .

One of the focal forms of cooperation as stressed yesterday would be intensification of joint training, participation in exercises and implementation of observational tasks. Furthermore, during the meeting a proposal was heard for continuation of the exchange of personnel training and development, and establishing cooperation between University of Defence and Russian scientific and educational institutions. There is still room for improvement in the cooperation between the two countries military medical institutions.

"It is with great pleasure that I can announce that the next academic year, a Russian officer will be attending staff college in Serbia," said the defense minister .

It was concluded that it is necessary to further strengthen bilateral military-technical and military economic cooperation of mutual interest in order to improve the capacity of countries and their placing on third markets.
