The safest drivers in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces

The three safest drivers in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces were announced today at the session of the Council for safety of military traffic participants in 2012, held in the General Logistics Department of the Material Resources Sector of the Ministry of Defence.

The safest drivers for 2012 are Staff Sergeant Jovan Medojevic from the Army Special Brigade, Corporal Sinisa Maksimovic from the Army Company Command and Dusko Radoja, a civilian employee from the Military Construction Institution "Beograd". Last year they drove the most kilometres without any road traffic accidents and offenses, which was the main criterion when selecting candidates.

The session was chaired by the head of the Traffic and Transportation Section of the General Logistics Department of Material Resources Sector, Colonel Docent Zeljko Rankovic and Chief of the Human Resources Department of the SAF General Staff Major General Sladjan Djordjevic presented the safest drivers with awards.

In 2012, there were fewer accidents in military vehicles compared to the last year, and the consequences were smaller. Members of the Council have concluded that in 2013 it is necessary to adopt Strategy for safety of military traffic participants for the period 2013-2017 and run campaigns to improve the security of military road users, especially aimed at the population of professional military drivers in MoD and SAF.
