Exchange of experiences in the field of professionalization of the armed forces
Delegation of the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Bulgaria, consisting of Colonel Bojko Nikolov, Head of Division for Personnel Policy and Analysis of the Directorate for Human Resource Management and Colonel Velimir Angelov, Head of the Division for filling the military ranks of the Directorate for Human Resource Management visited the Human Resources Sector of the Serbian Ministry of Defence on 25 and 26 April.
The aim of the visit was to exchange experiences in the areas of professionalisation, and have an insight into specificities and experiences in professionalisation of the Bulgarian Armed Forces, as well as the presentation of achievements and experiences in this area.
The official expert talks were held on 26 April in the Small War Hall of the old General Staff building. Bulgarian Defence Attaché of in Serbia, Lieutenant Emil Sipocki, also attended the talks.
Head of the Department for Defence Obligations, Colonel Dragosav Lackovi? informed the members of the Bulgarian delegation about the process of professionalization of the Serbian Armed Forces, the development and adoption of normative-legal regulations, as a basic prerequisite for building a professional military, the experiences in the implementation of the project of voluntary military service, as well as the project of active and passive reserves.
Colonels Bojko Nikolov and Velimir Angelov spoke about the professionalization of the Bulgarian Armed Forces, their previous experiences, state of filling the ranks with professional soldiers, the response to the competition for admission to professional military service as a soldier, normative organization of active and passive reserves, experiences and problems.
At the end of the meeting, Acting Assistant Minister for Human Resources Major General Sladjan Djordjevic welcomed the Bulgarian delegation, Defence Attaché of the Republic of Bulgaria and the participants in the discussion from the MoD and the SAF. On that occasion he pointed out that the Human Resources Sector of the Ministry of Defence is one of the major responsible bodies for the implementation of the tasks in the professionalization of the Serbian Armed Forces and stressed the importance of cooperation between the Ministry of Defence of Serbia and Bulgaria.
