Minister visits "Mrca" base



Defense Minister Dragan Sutanovac and Chief of Staff Lieutenant-General Ljubisa Dikovic with their associates visited members of the Serbian Army in the Ground Safety Zone in the military base "Mrce."

Congratulating the greatest Orthodox holiday, Easter, to members of our armed forces who reside on base, the minister pointed out that this was the first time he had the opportunity to tour the base, which controls part of the administrative line towards Kosovo and Metohija some 35 kilometers of Kursumlija, with the capacity to make that area safe, and that it is one of the few bases that he had not visited before.

- With the problems that exist, especially those relating to illegal logging, everything else is stable. We are here today to celebrate the greatest and most joyous Orthodox holiday, Easter, in order to check on the troops, to participate in traditional ceremony of egg taping and to wish them luck in the future and to continue to perform tasks in the best possible way - Sutanovac said, expressing particular satisfaction that the basis of one finds the mood of the remotest persons who carry out their duties responsibly.

He also noted that members of the Second Brigade in the winter had greatly assisted the civilian population.

Commander of the brigade, which is stationed within the base, Colonel Milic Stanic, reported to Minister Sutanovac on the state and staff in the base “Mrce”, noting that currently the military base has a fully professional composition of the Army of Serbia. He pointed out that its focal tasks relate to the first mission of our military, defense of the country

Continuation of the visit-based "Mrce" was spent in conversation and having fun with the traditional Easter egg tapping contest.
