Minister Stefanović visits Karaburma Covid Hospital



Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Nebojša Stefanović, PhD, visited today the Karaburma military hospital where doctors and medical staff are currently taking care of and fighting for the health of 84 patients with severe symptoms of Covid-19. Stefanović thanked members of the military health who are working tirelessly in this hospital and once again called on the citizens to sign up for vaccination.

During the visit, he talked to the Karaburma military hospital commander, Colonel Ivo Udovičić, MD, and the staff about the working conditions at the hospital and their further improvement. Minister Stefanović pointed out that energy and courage displayed by the doctors, nurses and other staff in the fight for the health of each patient in this hospital deserved tremendous admiration and respect.

Over the past year, more than 1900 Covid patients have been treated at this military institution, and the Karaburma military hospital is specific in that Covid patients with the most severe symptoms are sent here.

Before making a tour of the hospital, the Minister visited the military police patrol responsible for providing security to the Karaburma military hospital. The patrol consisted of the commander, Senior Sergeant I Class Aleksandar Ignjatović, shift leader Senior Sergeant I Class Momir Jocović and Master Corporal Branko Pešić.
Stefanović thanked the members of the 5th Military Police Battalion for being on duty 24 hours a day, regardless of the weather conditions, and for providing security to doctors, medical staff and patients, and he surprised the patrolmen by bringing them some hot coffee.
