Competition for Awarding 34 Student Scholarships




The Ministry of Defence has announced competition for awarding 34 student scholarships for the academic year 2020/2021 – 14 for the students at master programme and 20 for the students at graduate studies.
 
The amount of the students’ scholarships in the academic year 2020/2021 for students at master studies is 50,000 dinars, for the fourth year students 40,000 dinars, and for the students of the third year at graduate studies the scholarship amounts to 35,000 dinars.
 
The competition envisages that the scholarship students will be employed in the Ministry of Defence following their graduation, as civilians, and their future jobs are within the Military Technical Institute in Belgrade and Technical Overhaul Facility in Kragujevac where they will work of research and development project in an environment conducive to a creative work and permanent professional advancement in the country and abroad.
 
In this way, the Ministry of Defence encourages the hardest working and the most talented students to direct their knowledge to development and enhancement of defence capabilities of their country. The military industry is the mainstay of technological development, and a challenge of the new generation is to continue their road to success towards the top of modern technologies. Development of arms and military equipment is one of generators of development of modern science and modern technologies worldwide.
 
For 72 years now, the Military Technical Institute has been a source of technical innovations and a generator of modern technologies in the field of defence industry of our country. The Institute works on development of arms, aimed at making our armed forces strong and reliable, and our country safe and free. Development of modern complex combat and non-combat systems is something that characterises the fundamental activity of the Military Technical Institute.
 
Work in the Military Technical Institute offers opportunities for participation in development of the stat-of-the-art assets of arms and military equipment: missile guided and non-guided systems, modern combat systems, unmanned platforms, unmanned aerial vehicles, modern electronic and communication systems, radar and air defence systems.
 
Employment in the Technical Overhaul Facility in Kragujevac offers to young engineers challenging tasks of monitoring, testing, maintaining and overhauling new modern and complex explosive ordnance.
 
TOF Kragujevac, whose recorded beginning of business started back in 1853, today, possesses highly technically and technologically modernised lines for laboratory testing of chemical stability of gunpowder and rocket fuels, which enable permanent monitoring and enhancement of the process of lethal ordnance testing, and owing to special equipment that the facility owns, ballistic testing of testing grounds are also enabled.
 
By applying for the scholarship of the Ministry of Defence, conditions and opportunities are created for the employment and pursuing a career in those eminent and prestigious establishments which hold a recognisable place in domestic and foreign expert public. Upon successful finalisation of education, apart from certain employment, conditions are created for the work in modern laboratories and engagement in realisation of concrete and highly applicable projects, which as their end product have а use-value in defence of the Republic of Serbia. To participate in development of the Serbian Armed Forces is an important life mission, not just a regular job.
 
Personal advancement is one of requirements and priorities to which the Ministry devotes great attention. Thus, gifted young people have an opportunity to quickly and efficiently join in the most modern technological processes giving their contribution to development of arms and military equipment.
 
Eligible to apply for the competition are the students of master academic studies at faculties in the fields of industrial engineering, engineering management, and faculties in the field of mechanical engineering.
 
The competition is open for fourth year students at bachelor studies in the field of industrial engineering and engineering management, and third and fourth year students from the faculties in the field of electrical engineering and computer engineering.
