Silver and two bronze medals for shooters of the Serbian Armed Forces

Senior pistol shooting team SK Akademac, in the air weapon shooting disciplines, won second place in the Serbian Shooting Sport Federation Cup Final, held this weekend in Niš. Academac team was represented by Lieutenant Petar Nikolić, Command Sergeant Major Saša Mudrinić and military employee Dimitrije Grgić.

In the individual competition, military employees Dimitrije Grgić and Jasmina Milovanović, members of the Military Academy's Sports Unit, won bronze in air pistol shooting.

As Dimitrije Grgić points out, the Serbian Cup Final is the most significant and strongest shooting competition in our country besides the Serbian National Championship.

- The competition at the Serbian Cup Final was extraordinary, because it included all our national team players and nobody misses the competition of this type. The competition is of great importance, because it is a check before the European Championship that is to be held in Poland in a few weeks and “the odds are taken” at that championship - Grgić said.

According to him, they keep winning thanks to the excellent preparation conditions at the Academac Shooting Club at the Military Academy.

- We have an air gun range, small and large calibre shooting range at 25 meters and a Sports Centre with all the necessary facilities for preparation, sports and recreation - Grgić emphasised and said that investments by the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces in sports capacities, athletes and sports in the Armed Forces certainly “pay off”, as evidenced by the results.
