Expert gathering on Distance Learning




 
The 9th expert gathering entitled ‘Distance Learning 2019’ was held today at the amphitheatre of the Simulations and Distance Learning Section of the Military Academy.
 
This year's meeting discussed the results, status and prospects of distance learning in the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces, activities and plans of the Simulations and Distance Learning Section, the enhancement of the Advanced Security and Defence Studies using contents at the Distance Learning Platform, as well as new software tools and standards in e-education and training at home and abroad.
 
Participants in the gathering were welcomed by Colonel Ivan Vulić, PhD, vice-rector for scientific research, who emphasized that in accordance with the advancement of technology, it should be adapted to the needs and capabilities available. He commended the work of the Simulations and Distance Learning Section because the University of Defence have had a developed distance learning platform with a large number of lessons and programmes, for several years.
 
Head of the Simulations and Distance Learning Section, Colonel Goran Šimić, PhD, emphasised that this year’s gathering has been attended by representatives of all organisational units of the Ministry of Defence and the Serbian Armed Forces involved in the military training and education process, adding that a large number of participants in the gathering shows how large is the interest in implementation of modern IT technologies in teaching and training. He stressed that the programme of the gathering focused on enhancing military education at the University of Defence by using the distance learning platform as well as other e-learning and training technologies.
 
The gathering was concluded with a discussion on the application of distance learning in military education and training.
