Preparations for Display of Capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces “Freedom 2019”



Members of Serbian Armed Forces are conducting intensive preparations for a Display of Capabilities “Freedom 2019” which is to be held at the airfield “Colonel – Pilot Milenko Pavlović” in Batajnica on 19th October 2019.

The Display is going to be held on the occasion of marking the 75th anniversary of liberation of Belgrade in the Second World War and it will involve more than 2,400 members of the Serbian Armed Forces, 100 fighting and non-fighting vehicles and systems and some 25 aircraft.
 
According to the Display Commander Brigadier General Željko Bilić, the first part of the programme will present capabilities of a part of special units and the Army units armed and equipped with the-state-of-art armament and equipment in conformity with the concept “1500+” and donated means by the Russian Federation, which will be supported by Air Force and Air Defence units. After that will ensue the march-past of infantry, motorised and air echelon, while the final segment of the programme will include line-up of the units which participated in the Display.
 
He stressed that the preparations were conducted intensively as planned.
 
The citizens will have an opportunity to see at Batajnica airfield, modernised armoured reconnaissance vehicles BRDM-2MS, fighting vehicles “Lazar 3”, self-propelled gun-howitzers “Nora” and military-police fighting vehicles.
 
The aircraft to be presented include MiG-29, Eagle and Super Seagull, helicopters Mi-17, H-145M, Gama and Gazelle, together with assets developed by Serbian defence industry “Miloš”, “Oganj – modular”, “Oganj-Digital”, artillery systems “Šumadija”, “PASARS” and other assets.
