Delegation of the Communist Party of China visited the exhibition “Odbrana 78”

A delegation of the Communist Party of China, led by a politburo member and Secretary of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, Yang Xiaodu, visited the exhibition of the Ministry of Defense and the Serbian Armed Forces “Odbrana 78” (“Defense 78”) at the Museum of the City of Belgrade today.
State Secretary at the Ministry of Defense, Aleksandar Živković, Director of the Office for Kosovo and Metohija, Marko Đurić and host of the Chinese delegation’s visit and Chinese Ambassador to Belgrade, Chen Bo also attended the tour, and the delegation was guided through the exhibition by the author Dušan Jovović.

While visiting the exhibition, a strong impression on the members of the delegation was left by the part of the exhibition depicting civilian casualties, and a particular interest was drawn by the segment illustrating the 1999 bombing of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Belgrade, on which occasion three Chinese nationals were killed and a number of them injured.

After visiting the exhibition, Secretary Xiaodu wrote in his book of impressions – Respect for the Serbian People, who bravely preserved the sovereignty of their country.

The “Defense 78” exhibition is a multimedia and interactive exhibition divided into eight sections, displaying for the first time video and printed materials that have not been shown to the public so far.

The setting uniquely depicts the country’s heroic defense during the 78 days of NATO aggression, which began with the attack on the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia on 24 March 1999, without the approval of the United Nations Security Council, and is dedicated to the killed members of the military, police and civilians, unfortunately including many children.
