Congratulatory message from the Minister of Defence on the occasion of Telecommunication Service Day
I extend my sincere greetings to all members of the telecommunications service as they celebrate 20th September – the Day of the Service.
More than a century ago, at the proposal of the Minister of War, Crown Prince Aleksandar Karađorđević approved the Decree on Military Telegraph, pursuant to which the signal units separated from the Engineering branch, grew into the units at the level of battalion – regiment and signals became an independent branch of the Armed Forces.
By modernisation of the types and specialties of the telecommunication services in the previous period, you have achieved notable and significant results in strengthening the telecommunication service and significantly contributed to the improvement of operational and functional capabilities of the Serbian Armed Forces and the Ministry of Defence.
Believing that in the forthcoming period you will continue to work on upgrading and developing the telecommunication system, setting the high standards, I congratulate you on your holiday.
