Minister Vulin meets Air Marshal Pitch

Defence Minister Alexander Vulin has met today with NATO Air Marshal Marshal Stuart Pitch, who is on a visit to the Republic of Serbia. The meeting was also attended by the Chief of General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilović.

The meeting focused on NATO's cooperation with Serbia, with emphasis on cooperation with KFOR, as well as regional security challenges.

The Minister of Defence said that cooperation with NATO is very good and emphasised that such cooperation under the auspices of the Partnership for Peace programme is the optimal framework for our cooperation.

According to Minister Vulin, changing the purpose and tasks of the Kosovo Security Force and establishing a "Kosovo Army" for Serbia is absolutely unacceptable and a source of instability in the region. He stressed that KFOR is the only guarantee of security in Kosovo and Metohija.

Minister Vulin emphasised that Serbia is militarily neutral and thanked that NATO respects the military neutrality of the Republic of Serbia.

Air Marshal Pitch expressed satisfaction with NATO-Serbia cooperation, adding that it is based on mutually beneficial cooperation.
