Final rehearsal for the Promotion of the youngest Officers of the Serbian Armed Forces
On the plateau in front of the Houses of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, a final rehearsal was held tonight in preparation of tomorrow’s ceremony to promote the youngest officers of the Serbian Armed Forces.
The cadets of the final years of the Military Academy and the Military Medical Academy of the MMA are well prepared for the ceremonial defile, and tomorrow, with the decree of the President of the Republic of Serbia and the Supreme Commander of the Serbian Armed Forces, Aleksandar Vučić, they will join the officer ranks as the youngest Second Lieutenants in the Serbian Armed Forces.Tonight, at the final rehearsal on the plateau in front of the National Assembly, Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces, General Milan Mojsilović and State Secretary, Aleksandar Živković, confirmed for themselves that everything was ready for the next day.
The program of this year’s promotion of the Second Lieutenants, compared to previous years, will be innovated by a richer flight of aircraft and a cultural and artistic part of the program in which a larger number of cadets will participate, said Commandant of the Military Academy, Major General Bojan Zrnić, announcing tomorrow’s ceremony.
- This generation is specific since for the first time after 14 years, it once again includes military geodets, who have been trained according to the latest curriculum, and we have the first generation of military pilots, who have been trained under a program that has lasted for five years. They came out with the title of Master of Traffic Engineering and are fully qualified for flying independently - General Zrnić emphasized.
At the ceremony tomorrow, 160 cadets of the Military Academy and the MMA School of Medicine will be promoted to the first officer ranks. The Military Academy was completed by 135 cadets of 139th and 140th classes of Military Academy cadets, among them three cadets from the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the MMA Medical Faculty 25 young men and girls of 5thclass of the MMA Medical Faculty, including a member of the Armed Forces of Namibia.Traditionally, the President of the Republic of Serbia will present the sabers – symbolsof officer honor, to the best cadets of the Military Academy, and the Minister of Defense will award parade daggers to the best cadets of the Military Medical Academy.
The promotion of the Second Lieutenantsin front of the Houses of the National Assembly is being organized for the 14thtime, and this year will be marked by the flight of the aviation of the Serbian Armed Forces, as well as performances by the Representative Orchestra of the Guardsand the “Stanislav Binički” Art Ensemble of the Ministry of Defense.
The promotion ceremony for the youngest officers of the Serbian Armed Forces will be held on Saturday, 14September 2019, in front of the Houses of the National Assembly of the Republic of Serbia, at 11 o'clock, with the presence of the highest national and military leadership, guests from the country and abroad and citizens.
