Meeting of Minister Vulin with Adjutant General of Ohio National Guard




 
Today, Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vulin met Adjutant General of Ohio National Guard Major General John Harris, who is visiting Serbia.
 
Minister Vulin pointed out that the cooperation with Ohio National Guard was developed to mutual benefit, and that the best segment of bilateral relations was military-to-military cooperation, which was carried out in numerous field such as joint military exercises, in the area of cyber security, medicine and chaplain service, and through the project of development of the Multinational Operations Training Centre in the “South” Base.
 
Minister Vulin informed his interlocutor about current issues of politico-security situation in the region with the focus on the unchanged position of the Republic of Serbia regarding the status of Kosovo and Metohija, stressing that Serbia does everything in order to end negotiations between Belgrade and Priština in the best possible manner, and reach a lasting and sustainable solution that would bring stability and prosperity to the entire region. Furthermore, the minister of defence stated that the transformation of Kosovo Security Forces into so-called Armed Forces of Kosovo is absolutely unacceptable.
 
Adjutant General of Ohio National Guard confirmed that the cooperation in the area of cyber security was very important and he sent a message that both sides had something to learn one from the other. He stated that he was particularly pleased with the organisation of joint exercises and instanced the exercise “Platinum Wolf”.
 
Having in mind that he was from the very beginning involved in the cooperation between the Serbian Armed Forces and Ohio National Guard, which the sides have been carrying out for entire 13 years now, Major General Harris stated that the members of the Serbian Armed Forces were still excellent hosts and professionals when it came to military profession.
